【摘要】:Recently,therehasbeenwidespreaduseoftheInternetbythehealthcareindustrytorepresentinformation.MuchofthesuccessoftheInternetcanbeattributedtotheWorldWideWeb(WWW)anditsbrowsingsystem,whichmakeitpossibletonavigatetheInternetbypointingandclicking.Webpages,electronicdocumentslocatedontheInternet,arepublishedtoacomputerscreenbyabrowser.ThesepagesaredevelopedusingHyperTextMarkupLanguage(HTML).ThenextgenerationoftheWWWandwebpageshasarrivedwiththespecificationofeXtensibleMarkupLanguage(XML).JustlikeHTML,XMLcandefinehowpagesappearinwebbrowser.AdditionallyXMLprovidesacontextforinformation.WhileHTMLtellsthebrowserwhatapageshouldlooklike,XMLdefineswhatthepieceofinformationactuallymeans.BothHTMLandXMLaremarkuplanguages;thatis,theyinsertmarkup,oradditionalinformation,intotext.Themarkupisknownasatag.Forexample,HTMLmarksuptextonapagebyinsertingaBtagwhenthetextshouldbeboldedandbyinsertingaH1tagaroundthefirstheadingofawebpage.InHTML,thereisnowaytodistinguishbetweenamedicalrecordnumberorantelephonenumberbecausetheyarebothtaggedBforbold.XML,ontheotherhand,markseachitemwithspecialtagssothatcomputerscantellthedifference.WithXML,humansandcomputerscantellthedifferencebetweenaDIAGNOSIStagandSYMPTOMoraMedical.Record.NumberfromaPhone.Number.ThenamesofthetagsandtherulesforusingthemarecontainedintheDTDorDocumentTypeDefinition(DTD).TheDTDdescribesthestructureofthedocumentanddefinesthenamesoftagsitcontains.Additionally,theDTDdeclarestheorderinwhichthetagsoccurandhowoftenthetagscanappear;thatis,theDTDdefinesthehierarchyofthetags.ADTDforaprescriptionmightcontainstructuralelementsforthemedicationprescribed,thedosage,theform,thequantity,andsoforth.ThisguideprovidesacompendiumofinformationfortheuseofE2183XMLDTDswithinhealthcare.Thisguidedescribesdesignconsiderations,thearchitectureoftheDTDs,andimplementingsystemsusingtheE2183DTDs.ThisguidereferstoandmakesuseofrecommendationsfromtheWorldWideWebconsortium,theW3C(http://www.w3.org).Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatoryrequirementspriortouse.
