【摘要】:ThispracticeprovidesaprocedurebywhichsamplesofGCLshouldbeobtainedforlaboratorytesting.Thepracticeappliestomaterialsobtainedpriortoinstallation(eitheratajobsiteorataproductionfacility)orexhumedmaterialafterinstallation.OnlyGCLsamplesobtainedinaccordancewith5.1ofthispracticewillbeconsideredrepresentativeoftheactualmanufacturedGCLforqualityassurance/qualitycontrol(QA/QC)purposes..ThequantityofGCLreceivedbythelaboratoryshouldbesufficientforthepreparationofseveralrepresentativetestspecimensforthestandardizedphysical,hydraulic,andmechanicalteststobeperformedontheGCLs.TheproceduresinthispracticeshouldbeusedbyplantandfieldpersonnelforobtainingGCLsamplesforlaboratorytesting.1.1Thispracticecoversproceduresforsamplinggeosyntheticclayliners(GCLs)forthepurposeoflaboratorytesting.Theseproceduresaredesignedtoensurethatrepresentativesamplesareobtainedandproperlypackagedforsubmittaltoatestinglaboratory.1.2TheproceduresinthispracticemaybeappliedtoeithersamplesofunhydratedGCLsobtainedattheprojectsitepriortoinstallation(orattheproductionfacility,priortoshipmenttotheprojectsite)orsamplesexhumedfromaprojectsiteafterinstallation.1.3Itisassumedthatthenumberofsamplestobeobtainedhasalreadybeendeterminedintheprojectspecification,standardtestmethod,orbyprioragreementbetweenthepurchaserandseller.Thispracticecoversonlythemethodsforobtainingapre-arrangednumberofsamplesanddoesnotdescribemethodsforobtainingindividualspecimensfromthesample.1.4ThevaluesstatedineitherSIunitsorinch-poundunitsaretoberegardedseparatelyasstandard.Thevaluesstatedineachsystemmaynotbeexactequivalents;therefore,eachsystemshallbeusedindependentlyoftheother.Combiningvaluesfromthetwosystemsmayresultinnon-conformancewiththestandard.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
