【摘要】:Thistestmethodwilldistinguishbetweencoolingsystemchemicalsolutionsthatdoordonothaveatendencytochangethesurfaceappearancewhenappliedtoorganicfinishesusedonvehicles.Suchchangesmaybemanifestedbydiscoloration,lossofgloss,softening,swelling,orothersimilarphenomena.1.1Thistestmethoddeterminestheeffectofcoolingsystemchemicalsolutionsonorganicfinishesusedonmotorvehicles.Coolingsystemchemicalsinclude:coolantsorcorrosioninhibitors,orboth,coolingsystemcleanersorflushes,orboth,andstopleakadditives.Note1-ThistestmethodisamodificationofPracticeD1540.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesstatedinparenthesesareforinformationonly.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
